Super Bowl Fun & Food

Super bowl

It’s Ray Lewis’ last chance for a Super Bowl ring with the Ravens, the 49ers are favored to win on Sunday by a 3.5 spread and Randy Moss claims he is the best wide receiver in the history of the game, this will be quite a showdown!

No matter which team you are rooting for the Super Bowl always entertains, Beyoncé will perform an epic half-time show & my client’s firm has several Super Bowl commercials featured this year – can’t wait to see them!

But no matter where you intend to enjoy the game you will likely be faced with a lot more junk food & alcohol than you know you should be having, am I right?! So here a few ways to make this weekend less of a weight gainer:

First, eat before you go. If you are planning to go watch with friends or at a restaurant, have a proper meal at home before you head out so you aren’t starving when you arrive. This will reduce the amount of chips & dips you consume. Second, drink water! Lots of it. The more full you are on H2O the less room for beer or wine. And lastly, bring a dish that is a healthier choice to that Super Bowl party, a veggie tray or fruit platter so you know you will have something tasty to much on!

Here are a few ideas/recipes for healthy snacks:

Instead of tortilla or potato chips, try pita or rice cakes. You can use small toasted crackers made of whole grain or rice crackers and save half the fat and calories of fried chips.
