Corps Values: Honor, Courage and Commitment

Marine Corps Values, Honor, Courage and Commitment

As a highly motivated United States Marine – everyday I strive to uphold the Corps Values:  Honor, Courage and Commitment – that were instilled in me when I became a Marine, when I earned the title.  These three (3) Corps Values make up the bedrock of the character of each individual Marine and of who I am as a Marine.  They are the foundation of my Corps.  Handed down from generation to generation they have made the United States Marine Corps the most respected and revered fighting force on the planet!

Honor:
Honor requires each Marine to exemplify the ultimate standard in ethical and moral conduct.  Honor is many things; honor requires many things.  A U.S. Marine must never lie, never cheat, never steal, but that is not enough.  Much more is required.  Each Marine must cling to an uncompromising code of personal integrity, accountable for his actions and holding others accountable for theirs.  And, above all, honor mandates that a Marine never sully the reputation of his Corps.

Courage:  Simply stated, courage is honor in action — and more.  Courage is moral strength, the will to heed the inner voice of conscience, the will to do what is right regardless of the conduct of others.  It is mental discipline, an adherence to a higher standard.  Courage means willingness to take a stand for what is right in spite of adverse consequences.  This courage, throughout the history of the Corps, has sustained Marines during the chaos, perils, and hardships of combat.

Commitment:  Total dedication to Corps and Country.  Gung-ho Marine teamwork.  All for one, one for all.  By whatever name or cliché, commitment is a combination of (1) selfless determination and (2) a relentless dedication to excellence.  Marines never give up, never give in, never willingly accept second best.  Excellence is always the goal.  And, when their active duty days are over, Marines remain reserve Marines, retired Marines, or Marine veterans.  There is no such thing as an ex-Marine or former-Marine.  Once a Marine, always a Marine.  Commitment never dies.

Get in Bedroom Shape Now!

In my recent blog post "Being Fat Sucks" we covered a bunch of reasons why unhealthy bodies lead to unhealthy minds and unhealthy lives. But one of the biggest challenges people seem to face is not being in good bedroom shape. Not feeling sexy or attractive is detrimental to your relationship with yourself, your partner and definitely inhibits intimacy. I mean, let’s face it – we don’t just want to work our butts off to be in good shape – we want to be in good bedroom shape and look better naked!

All too often I hear from clients that their weight, stress, exhaustion and body image issues are preventing them from really enjoying their bedroom time with spouses or partners.  Embarrassment from weight gain or lack of energy and libido are usually due to a lack of exercise.

Get in Bedroom Shape Now with Thousand Oaks Boot Camp

The thing is, these are easy problems to fix – if your “Why is BIG enough” (and in this case size does matter!) you can remedy this issue easily – train for the bedroom!  Not every ‘gym athlete’ is training for an event or competition, many are simply training for day to day life which includes a lot of time spent in the bedroom!

Why not live a full rich existence which includes a healthy and enjoyable intimacy with the one you love? If you are not exercising and eating right you are not only limiting your own happiness, you are limiting it for your loved ones as well – which is really pretty selfish when you think about it.

  • Make fresh Salsa instead of store bought, you get less sodium more vitamins.
  • Use small plates and put your chips and dips on a plate instead of grazing from large bowls.

Being Fat Sucks

Alright so here’s the deal – I grew up skinny… and I fought most of my adult life to put on weight and muscle and keep it on.  Yeah, yeah, I know what you’re thinking “Oh, poor Migs, no matter how much he tries; he just can’t manage to gain any weight – that must really suck… I feel so sorry for him!” Hey, let me tell you something – being a boy and being thin DOES suck!

But you know what?  NOTHING I’ve ever been through (and as a Marine, trust me I’ve been through a lot!) seems to even come close to the pain and suffering people go through when they are overweight. The hope of improving my client’s quality of life and my passion for helping them with their transformations has driven me to become not just a personal trainer but a weight loss specialist – and well, a pretty darn good one. fat sux

The Bitter Truth About Sugar!

If you haven’t heard already, you need to know more about sugar. It’s in almost everything you eat, and some doctors go so far as to call sugar a toxin. The average American consumes 130 pounds of sugar a year, much of which is in your beverages! Sugar can take a serious toll on your health, worsening conditions ranging from obesity & heart disease to cancer.
